Social Network Financial Success, For Users?

The world is quite familiar to the amount of financial success that a lot of website businesses have seen. Google, the first internet monster, is a financial giant compared to its first months of operation. However, on this particular day, we will be focusing on social networks.

With MySpace annual advertising earnings of around $580 million, and Facebook, while as a private company they are refusing to report their earnings at this time, just had Microsoft purchase a $240 million stake in Facebook as a potential earnings arena for advertising and other Microsoft interests, social networks are proving to definitely be a lucrative advertising environment! However, unless you own the social network, or are a senior executive of the company that does, how much of that money do you see directly? The answer is "none".

However, a new day has come for social network users. Now, a brand new social network is sharing a percentage of its advertising earnings with its users! Yuwie.com is a spawning social network, boasting over 400,000 users, and is growing each and every month. What else? Users are getting better and better at ensuring that they have popular content on their profile pages, as well as utilize effective methods at obtaining friends as well as referrals to the site.

What does this mean? It means that the users who are on the site in the beginning, and continuously utilize these methods of success, are going to be sitting at the top of the earnings tree five years from now when the site is boasting millions of users! In fact, several negative articles have been written and released about how much users are earning each month from Yuwie, some of them only a few dollars, others hundreds of dollars. However, if any of them took statistics, you will know that those earnings will increase exponentially over time if the user continues their efforts to effectively build their popularity internal and external to the site!

The only thing that Yuwie has to do, is be true to their word. By ensuring that their users get the percentage of advertisement earnings that they are promising, they will provide the only press that they need in order to ensure that they succeed. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and is the driving engine behind social networks. Eventually, when the hundreds of boasting Yuwie users are yelling their success at the top of their lungs, the few naysayers will be drowned out and will have to find something else to write about.

What does this mean for the other social networks? Absolutely nothing! Each social network has their own special features and niches to ensure that they have a loyal following. In fact, an extremely high percentage of Yuwie users, around 74%, own profiles in at least one other social network. That being said, the other social networks are combating the success of their competitors.

Users of Facebook and MySpace will find that an attempt to place a link on their profile page to their Yuwie profile page will be blocked by the site's security settings. While this may be an attempt to not hurt themselves by helping Yuwie, MySpace and Facebook may end up hurting themselves more with the restrictions in place. In the end, their users are the ones that will be unhappy. Yuwie does not restrict their profiles from linking back to their users' MySpace or Facebook profiles, thus allowing the potential for increased advertising earnings for those social networks as well as increased user base from people directed to them from within Yuwie. This fact does not go unnoticed to their users that also have Yuwie accounts, and may lead to those users discontinuing their use of the other sites in order to maximize their earnings success within Yuwie. Just as a company sells off divisions which aren't helping the bottom line, social networks may find their users doing the same when it comes to their social network accounts!
